First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma begins its history in 1908 when a small group of Presbyterians started holding meetings in the Stephens County Courthouse. They were formally organized in the spring of that same year. On May 21, 1908, the four lots at 8th Street and Ash Avenue and the existing frame church building were purchased from Duncan's Baptist church. Our current sanctuary had its cornerstone laid on August 25, 1933, with a major renovation completed in February, 1978.

First Sunday of Advent, November 30, 2025
On the first Sunday of Advent, November 30, 2025, Reverend Mark Henslee will speak from Isaiah 2:1-5 in a sermon entitled "To Walk In His Light." Reverend Henslee writes, "Though Isaiah writes around eighty years before the destruction of Jerusalem and Israel's experience of exile, he tells about God's servant Messiah and about God saving and restoring 'the faithful remnant of God's people. In what may be the initial and core vision of Isaiah the prophet, God, the Holy One of Israel, expresses words of hope, confrontation, and claim. God expresses the purpose of establishing the Kingdom of God to bring peace to God-centered living!"

Music Ministry Sunday school class is excited to present a cantata during worship on Sunday, December 21, 2025. "Love Came Down at Christmas" by Joel Raney has inspired the choir to study harder and reach further. This group is led by Anna Adams, choir director and accompanist for FPC Duncan. Join us on Thursday evenings, December 4, 11, and 18 at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary for rehearsal. Everyone is welcome!
