Welcome

Thank you for visiting our website!
First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma begins its history in 1908 when a small group of Presbyterians started holding meetings in the Stephens County Courthouse. They were formally organized in the spring of that same year. On May 21, 1908, the four lots at 8th Street and Ash Avenue and the existing frame church building were purchased from Duncan's Baptist church. Our current sanctuary had its cornerstone laid on August 25, 1933, with a major renovation completed in February, 1978.
Please come worship with us Sunday mornings at 10:45 am in this beautiful sanctuary.

Bible Discovery Group every Wednesday at 1:30 pm!
Led by Reverend Mark Henslee, this deep dive into both the Old and New Testaments will expand your knowledge and your insight into the Bible. Reverend Henslee writes, "Staring later this March, the Bible Discovery Group will be taking a different tack on their next journey. There are some who consider three Older Testament books the heart of Jewish spirituality. These books are The Proverbs of Solomon, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Songs (of Solomon). Engaging me has been developing an understanding of what constitutes a 'spiritual reading' of these Bible texts. It is fascinating to me that at this time of life I feel ready to take on reading some of the most classic texts of Jewish and Christian spirituality. I am in the process now of selecting half a dozen or so books I want to engage with during the next year or so. If you are interested in joining me in this endeavor, then please contact me." Phone the church office at 580-255-5769 to leave a message for Reverend Henslee.
Fourth Sunday in Lent, March 15, 2026
On the fourth Sunday in Lent, March 15, 2026, Reverend Mark Henslee will speak from John Chapter 9 in a sermon entitled "Grace Known In Seeing." Reverend Henslee writes, "This is one of the most dramatic and tightly constructed stories of Jesus in this gospel of John. The issue seems to revolve around 'seeing' who God is 'revealing.' The ability or willingness to see is the key to knowing what God graciously and generously reveals in Christ Jesus. In demonstrating the triumph of light over darkness, John raises the real questions related to this important moment: Does this Jesus possess the power to heal and bring about miracles? If he does, then who is he? Remember this passage beings with a man born blind who receives sight from God's agent, Jesus, as he is contrasted with the Pharisees who have become spiritually blind. The division point becomes whether or not you accept Jesus as Lord and seeHis light."
Join us at 10:45 am in the sanctuary. You will not be disappointed with the time you spend in prayer and praise to Father God, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit!
