First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma begins its history in 1908 when a small group of Presbyterians started holding meetings in the Stephens County Courthouse. They were formally organized in the spring of that same year. On May 21, 1908, the four lots at 8th Street and Ash Avenue and the existing frame church building were purchased from Duncan's Baptist church. Our current sanctuary had its cornerstone laid on August 25, 1933, with a major renovation completed in February, 1978.

Third Sunday of Lent, March 23, 2025, 10:45 am
On the third Sunday of Lent, March 23, 2025, the congregation of First Presbyterian Church will receive a message from Reverend Mark Henslee entitled "Staying In Christ Is the Way Through." Scripture for this sermon comes from I Corinthians 10"1-13. Reverend Henslee writes, "when looking for good guidance and real help, the answer is not where we might turn for an answer. The answer is found in whom we trust to lead and deliver us through the territory. This means that God in Jesus Christ is our guide and deliverer. As His holy Church and living body present in the world, perseverance plays a part. More important is that we follow His lead, His teachings, His example, and with the Spirit's help, model Jesus' loving-kindness."
Music Ministry Sunday School Class
Music Ministry Sunday school reminds us of the importance of hearing God's voice in our worship music, not just in the special music we present as a gift of our hearts but in our hymn singing also. The class studies hand bell pieces, and the choir music currently under rehearsal is stretching everyone to new potentials. This class gathers every Sunday at 9:30 am in the sanctuary, which is a gift in itself. This class is open to everyone interested in music in any form. Y'all come sing with us!
