First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma begins its history in 1908 when a small group of Presbyterians started holding meetings in the Stephens County Courthouse. They were formally organized in the spring of that same year. On May 21, 1908, the four lots at 8th Street and Ash Avenue and the existing frame church building were purchased from Duncan's Baptist church. Our current sanctuary had its cornerstone laid on August 25, 1933, with a major renovation completed in February, 1978.

Fifth Sunday after Epiphany, February 8, 2026
On the fifth Sunday after Epiphany, February 8, 2026, Reverend Mark Henslee will speak from Matthew 5:13-16 in a sermon entitled "Be Who Jesus Says We Are." Reverend Henslee writes, "After the series of blessings with which Jesus opens his Sermon on the Mount, he makes two declarations about what or who Jesus expects his disciples to be. We are, states Jesus, 'salt,' and we are 'light.' Jesus is setting out the vision of the Church of Jesus Christ to be salt that flavors the whole life with grace. In the same manner, disciples are light that benefits and blesses others with the grace of the gospel. As Jesus' disciples, our purpose is to penetrate the world in a permanently transforming way."

Music Ministry Sunday school class is excited to present a cantata during worship on Sunday, December 21, 2025. "Love Came Down at Christmas" by Joel Raney has inspired the choir to study harder and reach further. This group is led by Anna Adams, choir director and accompanist for FPC Duncan. Join us on Thursday evenings, December 4, 11, and 18 at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary for rehearsal. Everyone is welcome!
